The spirit of giving back runs deep at Kleiman Evangelista Eye Centers.
Timeless wisdom from American industrialist Henry Ford: “To do more for the world than the world does for you – that is success.”
Community involvement – specifically giving and serving – has been at the heart of the culture at Kleiman Evangelista Eye Centers since it was founded in 1983. “It is humbling for us that while we strive to provide the best possible care to our patients, we are able to support our employees and their families,” said Dr. Anthony Evangelista. “Sadly, there are many who are not so fortunate. Individuals and families have fallen on hard times; either financially, physically and/or emotionally.”
From Plano and Dallas to across Arlington and Northeast Tarrant County, Kleiman Evangelista Eye Centers has a strong history of partnering with local organizations to enrich lives in the communities they serve.
Kleiman Evangelista Eye Centers has enjoyed phenomenal success since it opened its doors more than 30 years ago. Its reputation as a leader in the world of ophthalmology – specifically LASIK vision correction – is second to none. The team at Kleiman Evangelista Eye Centers is among the most experienced in the DFW metroplex, having performed thousands of procedures for satisfied patients around the country.
“So much of our success can be contributed to our wonderful and loyal patients and staff,” said Dr. Evangelista. “We have made it our mission to give back to the community that has supported us for so long. Since our guiding philosophy is to put patients first, it is our desire to get to know our patients well enough to learn what is important to them. It is our privilege to give back to so many community efforts and organizations that are near and dear to the hearts of our patients and staff.”

The Mansfield ISD Clothes Closet was started in 2000 by the MISD Council of PTAs and serves approximately 1300 families each year by providing clothing and school supplies to needy students who attend MISD schools. The Arlington Life Shelter provides shelter and support services to help homeless Arlington residents integrate into society and become self-sufficient, thriving contributors to the community. The Arlington Life Shelter is the only shelter in the DFW area with a work requirement for residents receiving more than emergency shelter.
In 2012, the shelter served 800+ homeless men, women and children with an average length of stay of 9 weeks. Remarkably, 80% of program participants are currently employed in full-time positions.
Each year, Kleiman Evangelista employees donate toiletries and snacks to help keep the shelter stocked with conveniences for the residents.
In March 2016, we had a glasses drive to benefit the Lions Club. Patients and staff joined forces to collect around 100 pairs of glasses. Kathy and Danny Fletcher from the Lions Club Recycle for Sight program collected the glasses at our Dallas office (pictured here with Dr. Kleiman).
The glasses were taken to be thoroughly cleaned, sorted by prescription strength and then packaged for donation to Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers.
The Recycling Centers are located in Australia, Canada, France, Italy, South Africa, Spain and the United States. The goal of the Recycling Centers to provide glasses to those who can not otherwise afford them.
